Taking inspiration from art by Wassily Kandinsky, this piece explores the artistic concept of the interaction between a point and a line. In Kandinsky’s book, Point and Line to Plane, he reviews the most basic concepts of geometric shapes in relativity to art. The work includes interpretations of the, at times, abstract relationship between a point and a line, and how when they connect, they create the visible plane. A point is born from a singular connection to the playing space and a line is born from this point. These dancers embody the idea of a point and a line, and through movement, create the plane.
